Since 2004, Jeff Helgeson has been serving as the Ward III representative on Lynchburg City Council, where he has been the chairman of the Finance Committee for many of those years. He was previously a Lynchburg Planning Commissioner, president of the Lynchburg Jaycees, Treasurer of the Central Virginia Community Services Board, and Chairman of the President’s Advisory Council for the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was once an assistant wrestling coach at Jefferson Forest High School and volunteered for many years with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Virginia.
Helgeson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and an MBA from Liberty University, along with a Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) from American College, considered the pinnacle of professional education in the financial services industry. He has professional certifications as both a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Life Underwriter.
Jeff and his wife Allison, a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at Centra Health, live in a restored Victorian home in West Lynchburg.
